Actually it's Jin Roh from a Japanese anime movie. It's pretty much 'based' on the classic German fairytale version of Little Red Riding Hood. I must've been 16 or something when I made that. Out of cardboard and random crap. Yep.

Edit: The armour is part of the series' defining characters, known as the Kerberos Panzer Corp. They're an armoured police division in a world where Germany won the 2nd World War and Japan is part of the Axis facing an uprising.

The main character is part of the police forces until he meets an unusual girl who uncannily resembles another resistance member who blew herself up rather than face capture. Plagued by doubts and nightmares about the morality of what he's doing as a Kerberos, he tries to take care of this girl in the face of everything he's believed in up till then. The rest are spoilers.

Even if you're not fans of anime, you should give this a shot for nothing else if not the coolness of an armoured, machine gun toting ubersoldat.

The suit doesn't really look as good as in the photo, but I guess if everything's black the fine details don't stand out much.

It may not look as good as in the pic but it still looks sweet. Far better than I'd have the patience or skills to do :/

I wonder if I should dig out a picture of that failed Master Chief suit I was trying to do. xD I did use it for an intro video that was required of us as part of the admissions criteria for my University course, but maybe I'll make a separate topic for that.

Er, I mentioned it in my edited post earlier. Anyways, it's called 'Jin Roh' (if you read Chinese or Japanese characters it literally translates to '(hu)Man Wolf', with a title that's pretty deep in itself. It's pretty old by now, but it's still a pretty good watch. The preproduction process for this movie was fantastic.

There's a live version created before the animated version, I believe directed by Mamoru Oshii (of Ghost In The Shell the movie fame), but I can't remember its name offhand. It was ALSO awesome.

I don't like showing my face, which is the reason why all my costumes involve face-concealing masks and helmets. If you insist on knowing what I look like I'll need to find a scanner first.

I don't do them nowadays, but I've got experience. If I had the time and money I'd try my hand at a cardboard GoW or Space Marine suit.


Edit: I'm gonna bite the bullet and post a pic of that suit. It's really rough and incomplete, and I stopped because I realized I'd gotten the chest armour bit really wrong and didn't have the materials to redo it all over.
