No, it hasn't.

It has changed them, sure. But now there is a new kind of "social". Networking sites and online IM's, forums (like this one ), chat rooms and online games now see people interacting with people from a distance. Talking to someone on an IM may be completely different to talking to them face-to-face but it is still "social".

Sure, some people have become more recluse with video games but now these same people who would often have been a recluse anyway can talk to people from the outside world.

You cannot say that video games have destroyed people's social lives.

I'm an avid gamer, I frequent at least five forums a day, two of which I administrate, and yet I still have a healthy social life.
