Sins of a Solar Empire

This is my latest purchase which I decided to pick up on the strength of the review in PCZone and nothing more. it's a "sandbox" space based RTS that looks incredible. Totally freeform, no linear campaign. Will report back on how (much) I like it.

I've played this game before at a friends house...although I think he stole it from the internet! It was really fun...although the computer is always able to take the planets away from you and amass a huge army and stomps your home world. But the rest of the game was really fun...I like making my own galaxies, that part was one of the best to me anyways.

I just had about an hour or so to play after running through the tutorials and I think this is going to be one that it is worth spending some time mastering. Sure to start with it's not the easiest game to get to grips with but then many games that are great do have a learning curve.

Too vast and complex for me. I tried it, it's most certainly a game that requires time and attention. I mean if/when I'm in the mood for a complex space RTS it will be this one for sure but right now I just can't seem to get into it.

It's gotten great reviews though and it's developed by the same peeps behind SW: EaW.

I was under the assumption it was a space exploration game like Elite... *sigh* they're never going to remake Elite.
