As members of our Steam Group might have noticed, we now have three dedicated servers running!

It's Left4deadforums.com Alpha, Beta and Gamma supplied by Velocity Servers.

These servers are situated in the US, as those from Scumland or Europe might've noticed by the ping.

I am looking into cheap hosting situated in Europe, so we all get to play together on our own servers, with the best connection possible (So if you know of someone who hosts L4D servers in EU cheaply, feel free to let me know :P).

Update:

Alpha server is now all maps, Beta & Gamma servers are set to Versus mode.

This *can* change if a lobby gets either Beta or Gamma dedicated to a co-op game, but I'm trying to find out if we really have to close off the servers to anyone but members of our Steam Group to keep them as they are.

Thanks Barlowe.

The servers are currently public, but we can password protect one or more at any time and make them exclusive to us. If anyone wishes to reserve the use of a server for any reason, they can by contacting a member of staff or by posting here (or in the Questions Forum).

Naturally, when we reach the position where we have new mods being launched - especially those which will be exclusive to left4deadfiles.com - we will use them for testing maps etc.

Update: As of now, the Gamma servers' map cycle is set to being just the Versus maps. It *can* default back to co-op if someone through a lobby gets our server for co-op play, but I'll leave instructions with the rest of the staff to how to reset it if needed

I think we need to move two of them to versus and leave one as co-op. Versus is where the fun is at.

I'm looking into getting a L4D server, and i guess it has the same advanced setup/rcon like cs:s and halflife 2 servers? Anyway, as im pretty dumb with that shit (yeah, its possible), i could need the help from someone who knows what their doing. If its not to much job, u think u could help me?

Our stuff is on velocity-servers, and I've only barely been able to choose the mapcycle on our servers :P

For some reason I don't have anything along the lines of Steam Group Servers showing up any longer. :\ Wonder why.

I suppose you've tried just waiting for 'em to show?

Mine can take upwards of a coupla minutes after entering the game before it registers something even close to all the steam group servers I can theoretically see

Well, for some reason I don't even see the section in the main menu next to friends. There is just nothing there, and when I try to find a server and chose the group servers option, it shows up that there are none.

I'm gonna leave and rejoin the group. See if that does it.

This is what my main menu looks like, the icon is nowhere to be seen.

Yeh I know. Mine looks the same for the first few minutes, usually, after entering the game.

And how i get it to take on normal lobby games. Maybe a good server.cfg etc
