How good is the game?

I pre-ordered Call to Duty: World at War for PC am was so disappointed.

I was looking for a good FPS and saw some quick reviews and ordered this game. Maybe with hosting by Valve things will be good. It should be here in a few days.

How is the game?

Graphics in MP as good as SP?

Multiplayer and Singleplayer are the same thing in this game, so there is no difference in graphics or features. The human players are simply replaced by bots.

Hi There,

Quite simply...the game is stupendous! Apart from F.E.A.R., I have not enjoyed a game as much as this since the original Doom back in the early nineties. The 'single player' is brilliant, and I have yet to try the multiplayer or any of the other variations.

I'm currently stuck on the hospital roof awaiting airlift, and fending off the hordes of hell. I keep dying, but I'll persevere, as I expected it to be hard, as I'm playing on advanced level. I tend to have a lot of trouble defending myself against the Tank, so the 'Director' brings them on when I'm winning the day, just died after killing two Tanks, and then a third squashed me...so I'm taking a break, and having a coffee.

This manner of gameplay, and the use of interactive dynamics between the survivors and their foes as the basis of creating a story narrative, really does manage to maintain one's interest. You don't stand much of a chance alone, you need the co-operative endeavour of your team-mates, and they you. It's what FPS games have been waiting for. Without question, L4D is undoubtedly the best FPS to come out since Doom...Valve are to be congratulated on an excellent and very entertaining product!

Now, where did I put that gun...?

The game is stellar. I too ordered COD: WaW at the same time, and while it hasn't disappointed me, it isn't holding my attention as well as this game does. Primarily since it's entirely different than the same old FPS's I've been playing for over a decade. The change is a welcome one, and one you surely should not miss. VS mode is addictive to say the least...

OMG! The dark deal is over done. I can't see a damn thing in the game.

That's it! I have been screwed by PC Gamer Mags give games big ratings. They are full of it.

Forget about tweaking settings it sucks no matter what.

It looks like good game play but the 2 foot of vision sucks.

Another $50 blown.

Another expensive beer coaster

I wondered to myself why the graphics werent more top notch but then i thought about it.... if you have a ton of zombies coming at you the graphics cant be top notch like that of say ut3 without having severe lag. it is supposively a modded half life 2 game.

like i was explaining to a friend.. this game is like one incredibly enjoyable 2 year long orgasm. i can not find a fault in the coop play other than it only having 4 story maps (20 stages)

Dude, that sounds like an issue with your hardware, not the game. So far you're the only person I've seen complaining about draw distances/lighting. Check your video card is actually supported by the game, download the latest drivers for it if it is, check the gamma settings both in-game and on your monitor. Finally, try cleaning your glasses.

The game is fine, and I've had no issues with lighting other than the relatively short sections that are intended to be pitch black.

Maybe you should turn up your monitor/tv brightness or alter the in game brightness/gamma settings?
