There is no "best part" of Dead Rising...unless you've burnt the disk. In which case, watching it burn would be the best part of the entire Dead Rising experience.

The first half hour or so. After that, it just drops right away, and you end up repeating a series of mundane 'A to B' style tasks. But that first half hour just wandering around killing stuff is supermegawesomehappyfuntime++.

Not unless you enjoy shitty controls, a lame storyline with horrible acting, repetitive gameplay, a fucking retarded game save procedure, zombies that aren't a real threat, and the most ridiculous "missions" ever written by game developers.

Pretty much. That's just about the extent of the game. I'm sorry, I do indeed enjoy walking into a mall and seeing hundreds of zombies. However, I think it's absolutely ridiculous that you have the ability to hit them with a SHOPPING CART; repeatedly.

What alarms me is the fact that a game with so many SERIOUS bugs and errors was allowed to ship in the first place. You come to expect it with PC games (don't you even think about using this in some pro-Xbox propaganda, young lady!), but in a non-patchable console game, it's unforgivable.

I agree. That game was the biggest piece of fail I've ever been talked into buying. Can you believe that someone told me that Dead Rising was better than Mass Effect?! I was at the store, on the phone with my friend James. He was like, "Get Dead Rising, it's way better than Mass Effect." I swear to god, that kid owes me $10...and I want the three frustrated hours of my life that I spent playing it back.

Really? James should be fairly glad that he's your friend and not mine, as if he'd have told me that, he'd be picking broken CD shards out of sensitive parts of his anatomy for some time. I picked up Dead Rising on the cheap from the second hand rack, so only paid £10 for it, which I think it was just about worth. If I'd have paid £40 for it, I'd have probably eaten my xbox out of sheer anger.

I quite liked Mass Effect - not sure if it was as good as all the magazines and websites said, but I thought it had a good story, and there were a couple of times where the game forced you to make some quite tough decisions.

I too bought Dead Rising from the discount rack, lol. However, I feel like the game wasn't worth the space it took up on the shelf, let alone the $10 I spent on it.

I didn't get to play Mass Effect a whole lot, but I liked what I did play of it.

It was the reverse of Dead Rising - it started off a bit ropey, but the deeper you got into it, the better it got. Plus you get the chance to have sex with a blue chick. If that's not win, I don't know what is.
